THURSDAY 5.2.

NORDIC DESIGN LUNCH (12.30-15)

Lunch to discuss practical level Nordic design co-operation. The curators of WE LIVE HERE, Marika Tesolin, Elina Aalto and Hlin Helga Guðlaugsdóttir will speak about the project, and the discussion on the future prospects of collaboration will be moderated by Ewa Kumlin, managing director of Svensk Form.

JAPANESE WAZUKA-CHA TEA PARTY (18-20)

Svensk Form hosts an exclusive Japanese Tea ceremony, as well as an exhibition with Kutani-yaki ceramics in the presence of the Japanese ceramicists. There will also be a presentation of calligraphy, Japanese music and Sake!

THREE TEA TOWER (20-23)

Brynhildur Pálsdóttir of Vik Prjónsdóttir, Aamu Song and Johan Olin of Company, Katja Pettersson and John Astbury join their drinking powers to serve a tea made from Finnish trees and Icelandic Flora mixed with Swedish ingredients. 

Each of the designers will bring a local ingredient from their country of origin. In a ceremonial manner, these hot concoctions are then mixed by pouring them on a tower of glasses which the designers have built on site.

Social Rug by Moving Castle

Let’s make a WE LIVE HERE rug!

In this workshop, we will make one WE LIVE HERE rug. Perfect for both big and small rug makers, as everybody is welcomed to jump into designer's shoes and share stories while we make the rug. Welcome, we are happy to meet you!

 

Moving Castle is a Finnish design project by SuoMu – the Finnish Association of Design Education that organizes workshops, events, courses and seminars. SuoMu aims at promoting the use of design education in different teaching platforms and leisure activities as well as among the general public. You can see photos of the previous events from Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/liikkuvalinna

 

The Mutku – Design Education for Primary Schools teachers’ guide book was published in September 2014 through a collaboration between SuoMu, the Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Design Museum.
